The Devil You Know by Trish Doller

Book Summery (Via Goodreads):Eighteen-year-old Arcadia wants adventure. Living in a tiny Florida town with her dad and four-year-old brother, Cadie spends most of her time working, going to school, and taking care of her family. So when she meets two handsome cousins at a campfire party, she finally has a chance for fun. They invite her and friend to join them on a road trip, and it's just the risk she's been craving-the opportunity to escape. But what starts out as a fun, sexy journey quickly becomes dangerous when she discovers that one of them is not at all who he claims to be. One of them has deadly intentions.

Book Review:
Wow. Where to begin? How about the main character Cadie. Cadie is what I would consider a normal teenager. Sick of filling in the "mom" role, she decides to pursue a small road trip with two guys she just met. There were times that I felt empathy for Cadie, but this was not one of them. This was a time that I wanted to smack her upside the head and ask her 'what are you thinking?!' Trust me, there are a lot of moments like that. As far as the two guys go, you can tell that something is off, but it's hard to put your finger on exactly what. It's a part of the story that made it near impossible to set the book down.

This is a novel full of suspense that builds nicely throughout the story arc. The mixture of adventure, mystery, and romance makes a satisfying combination. I also enjoyed how Doller wrapped things up at the end. That's right, no frustrating loose ends here! I really appreciated that.

Overall, if you are looking for a good mystery with a lot of suspense and tension, look no further!

Thanks to Bloomsbury USA Children's Books for this copy.
