Book Summery (Via Goodreads):
Fresh out of college, Tia Monroe has every intention of taking the New York City restaurant scene by storm. But after a coveted internship goes up in smoke, Tia’s suddenly just another food lover in the big city.
Yet everything changes when Michael Saltz, a legendary New York Times restaurant critic, lets Tia in on a career-ending secret: he’s lost his sense of taste. Now he wants Tia to serve as his palate, ghostwriting his reviews. In return he promises her lavish meals, a boundless cache of designer clothing, and the opportunity of a lifetime. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, Tia agrees.
Within weeks, Tia’s world transforms into one of glamour and luxury: four-star dinners, sexy celebrity chefs, and an unlimited expense account at Bergdorf Goodman. Tia loves every minute of it…until she sees her words in print and Michael Saltz taking all the credit. As the veneer of extravagance wears thin and her secret identity begins to crumble, Tia is faced with what it means to truly succeed. In a city where “making it” is the ultimate goal, Tia will have to decide: how far is she willing to go for the life she craves?
Book Review:
I just love books about food. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm a Foot Network/Cooking Channel junkie. One of my other favorite hobbies? Reading. Reading food themed books is the best of both worlds! Tom does a great job of integrating a lot of food verbiage in Food Whore. The descriptions of food alone was enough to make my mouth water! I also liked the incorporation of fashion. It's true...the food scene isn't just about food...fashion certainly has it ranks among foodies as well as food entertainment. The main character Tia is likable at first. Then enter a slew of terrible decisions, some definitely more obvious than others. It was enough to make me want scream at her through the pages. Alas, Tia has some redeeming qualities that places her back in my "like" category. Overall, this is a tale of finding yourself through trial and error. Believe me, Tia goes through a lot in order to truly find herself. I loved the New York setting, it was very appropriate for a foodie scene. Romance does highlight the story, but isn't overwhelming and doesn't take over the plot. Ultimately, this was a fun read that made my stomach grumble!
Thanks to William Morrow Paperbacks for this copy.

This is my honest review.
Cover Art Commentary:
The cover is a bit bland for my taste. I would like a bit more color or more food to add a bit of interest.
