Ever since his girlfriend left town to deal with her newly acquired taste for blood, Harry Dresden has been down and out in Chicago. He can't pay his rent. He's alienating his friends. He can't even recall the last time he took a shower. The only professional wizard in the phone book has become a desperate man. And just when it seems things can't get any worse, in saunters the Winter Queen of Faerie. She has an offer Harry can't refuse if he wants to free himself of the supernatural hold his faerie godmother has over him — and hopefully end his run of bad luck. All he has to do is find out who murdered the Summer Queen's right-hand man, the Summer Knight, and clear the Winter Queen's name. It seems simple enough, but Harry knows better than to get caught in the middle of faerie politics. Until he finds out that the fate of the entire world rests on his solving this case. -author's website

Well...that is a toss up. I am looking forward to reading Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgen series. However I am also looking forward to Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. Also, Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors. So overall, I would say this is one of my best "bundles." :)

  2. I've been hearing a lot about Jim Butcher's as well, but have not read any of them yet. They do look good. Same goes with the Kim Harrison books. Enjoy! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about these!

  3. I really need to finish Jim Butcher's series. The first didn't grip me, but I heard it gets better.

Also, I'm curious about your thoughts on Kim Harrison. I tried a novella of hers and found it, well, distasteful. :/

  4. I've been interested in Odd and the Frost Giants! I can't wait to see what you think of it. :)

A former co-worker recommended Jim Butcher to me, but I never bothered picking any of his books up. Are these the first few in a series? I'd like to read more about it after you've read and reviewed them. :)

I have heard the same thing...the Dresden Files get better as they go along. The series by Kim Harrison came highly recommended by a friend. I haven't read any of them yet, but I read Harrison's Once Dead, Twice Shy and really liked it. You can read the review here, if you like: http://lillybook.blogspot.com/search/label/Kim%20Harrison .
