Book Bundle

Cassandra Renfield has always seen the mark—a glow around certain people reminiscent of candlelight. But the one time she mentioned it, it was dismissed as a trick of the light. Until the day she watches a man awash in the mark die. After searching her memories, Cassie realizes she can see a person’s imminent death. Not how or where, only when: today. Armed with a vague understanding of the light, Cassie begins to explore her “gift,” seeking those marked for death and probing the line between decision and destiny. Though she’s careful to hide her secret—even from her new philosophy-obsessed boyfriend—with each impending death comes the temptation to test fate. But so many questions remain. How does the mark work? Why is she the only one who sees it? And finally, the most important of all: If you know today is someone’s last, should you tell them? -Goodreads.com

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her. -Goodreads.com

For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime. She can't tell anybody about what she does -- they'd never believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can't control. Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant....-Amazon.com

This intriguing, if not quite stand-alone, sequel to Wake follows undercover investigators and high school seniors Janie Hannagan and her partner/boyfriend Cabel as they attempt to unmask and trap a sexual predator teaching at Fieldridge High. Janie is a dream catcher—she has the ability to be sucked into another person's dreams—and her job is to glean clues to the culprit's identity from her classmates and to act as bait. The latter task annoys protective Cabe, and their relationship, already strained by a scarcity of alone time and the need for secrecy (their last case might be jeopardized if they are seen together), is further stressed. Furthermore, Janie receives documents from her now-deceased dream-catcher mentor promising to detail the fate in store for her, and she's not sure she wants to know the truth. While there are few surprises in the main plot arc, the spare but effective narrative holds readers' attention, especially when Janie delves into the chilling truth of her ability. -Amazon.com

All of these were purchased from my local indie bookstore. In my defense, not all of these were bought at same time! :P I was in a particularly good mood yesterday, so I did splurge on Fallen and The Mark. I usually wait until books come out in paperback, if I can...

Most Anticipated:Well, the all sound good to be honest. If I had to choose I would say I am most looking forward The Mark and Fallen annnnnd Succubi Like It Hot, I MUST read that series soon! I have heard such good things about it! :D

  1. Umm...I'm a little jealous about that haul. I'm reading Gentleman prefer Succubi right now, enjoying it. Tina is supposed to be sending me The Mark next, she said it was great. Can't wait.

Glad that your Top Comments are working, I put your name to filter it out, but the two name things sometimes doesn't work right - always something. I could try something else if you want. I'm going to make a few comments across your site to see if it updates. ♥ Parajunkee

  7. I *always* wait for books to come out in paperback before I spend on any. Hardcover version is way too expensive over here as compared to the paperback one. But it is a lovely treat once in awhile, no?
