Top Ten Tuesday: TBR woes!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy...But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread

Etiquette & Espionage

I just adored Carriger's Parasol Protectorate series! I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of Etiquette & Espionage! I counted down the days until it's release. Sadly, I still have yet to pick this beauty up! I need to make this book priority ASAP!!!

Dearly, Beloved

I loved Dearly, Departed! I greedily gobbled it up and anxiously awaited the release of Dearly, Beloved. I went to two different bookstores until I finally found it, and it has been on my shelves ever since.
The Essence

I couldn't put down The Pledge! I just adored the world building and story arc. It seemed to take forever for The Essence to be released. I even pre-ordered it! Sadly, this too has been cast into the TBR pile.

The Opposite of Hallelujah
by Anna Jarzab

Jarzab's All Unquiet Things came highly recommended by another blogger via Goodreads. I still think of that books from time to time. So when I saw that The Opposite of Hallelujah was to be published, I could hardly wait! I didn't even need to read the summery to know it would be good! Alas, it too has sat on the TBR pile for far too long!

Seraphina
by Rachel Hartman

Seraphina has received many stellar reviews across the book blogging universe. The premise sounds excellent! I bought this book and it has been collecting dust ever since. One of my goals for 2013 is to polish this baby off! The next book in the series is to be published in February of 2014, so at the very least, I need to read Seraphina before then!

Insurgent
by Veronica Roth

Divergent was an amazing read! I could barely contain my excitement for the  release of Insurgent. However, it's release came and went, and the poor book still is sitting on my shelf. I've been meaning to pick it up, but the mood hasn't struck yet. Hopefully soon...

Throne of Glass
by Sarah J. Maas

I'm not sure why I haven't picked this up yet. I certainly enjoyed reading fellow blogger's reviews. The sequel comes out this August, so I plan to read it between now and then!

Shattered Souls

I remember anxiously awaiting the release of Shattered Souls. I finally picked up a copy on a road trip. I couldn't wait to pick it up, but my trip was busier than expected. Then, I just kept putting it off. I still want to read it. However, the sequel wont be released until 2014, so I have a bit of time yet.

Paper Valentine
by Brenna Yovanoff

I have fallen in love with Yovanoff's writing through her other books; The Space Between and The Replacement. She has a dark, bold style that I enjoy very much. I pre-ordered Paper Valentine and it still sits in my TBR shelf on my Nook. I plan to read this very, very soon!

Scarlet
by Marissa Meyer

I certainly enjoyed Cinder, though perhaps not as much as others. I had still been looking forward to the release of Scarlet. I even started to read it the other day, then stopped because I felt guilty for not reading more of my ARC's from publishers. I will get to Scarlet soon!

So dear readers, what books have you purchased only to have left them sitting on your shelves?

  2. Throne of Glass and Seraphina were both really good!! I've still got Insurgent and Shattered Souls on my shelf as well, it's kind of shameful that I could list more than ten books if I needed to -_- lol.

  4. Oooo Lola you have some great ones sitting on your shelf! I don't have much room to talk though, as Insurgent is still sitting on my shelf as well. I rationalize that fact by telling myself I'm waiting until it's closer to the release date of book 3 before I dive in ;-) I hope you get to Scarlet soon, I absolutely adored that book!

  7. Several of these are on my list as well. I really loved SCARLET, so I'd totally recommend reading that one soon. It's as good -- maybe even better -- than CINDER.

  10. I need to read Throne of Glass and Seraphina too! :-) One was a present and one a giveaway win, so I haven't counted them on my list, but they have been sat there for a while now...

  12. I actually haven't read Divergent though I've had the book for so long now. You have to read Scarlet, I know you'll love it.

  13. You're making me look bad :P Most of your books on your list only came out within the last twelve months.... Mine I've had for so long they literally are collecting dust...

I loved Throne of Glass, Scarlet and Insurgent. I've heard nothing but good things about Seraphina (it's on my to-buy list!) and as a Gail Carriger fan I can't wait to read E&E.

Hope you have a fantastic week!

  16. The only one of these that I have still sitting on my shelf, waiting to be read is Throne of Glass, but I borrowed it from a friend. But I do have over 100 books on my shelf that I have yet to read! It's like a sickness, really. Have to buy and buy and then I'm such a slow reader that they just add up. Hope you get to all of these soon!
